Sydne Archambault was born and raised in the great state of Wyoming, and grew up in a home where art held a presence. Her mother, Willie Jordan Misner, was a professional artist in oil and canvas, as well as clay.
Sydne spent many hours as a child watching her mother paint and sculpt beautiful pieces of art. It was years later before she would walk in her mother's footsteps.
Sydne began her art journey twenty years ago, when she wrote a children's story and decided to illustrate it. She discovered a software program, Meta Creations Painter 5. It held all the virtual brushes and tools to help bring her vision of the story to life.
What a discovery this computer program was for her! "Sure the learning curve was huge. Many times Painter's 'help' screens were like trying to read code, and many times Painter's manual flew across the room!"
Nevertheless, she stubbornly pursued the Meta Creations software (now Corel Painter). Sydne persevered through the program's many updates and upgrades through the years, and is rightfully proud of her determination. "It has been worth the trip!" she smiles, "I'm pleased I didn't give up, which would have been so easy to do."
Sydne continues with ongoing instructional classes in Corel Painter and in improving her technique. Today, she has displayed her work in galleries and banks in the surrounding Colorado area, as well as in established Fort Collins restaurants.
